Space Carnival 109

Hey, I just found out the 109th edition of the Carnival of Space is being held at none other than my friend, fellow TAM speaker, and Hollywood scientist Jennifer Ouellette’s Twisted Physics blog!

Go over there, read about space and astronomy and tell her you say "hi".

Sorry to post this here, but can’t find an easy “Contact” link on the site…

My son just called me at around 2:30am EDT about a bolide he saw passing over western New York. From his description, this was an impactor with city-killing potential. Anybody have any correlating reports..?

Err..forgive my above hyperbole..it was late and I was woken up minutes after falling asleep.

    I meant “city block.”

    /carry on

Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy, is an astronomer, lecturer, and author. After ten years working on Hubble Space Telescope and six more working on astronomy education, he struck out on his own as a writer. He's written two books, dozens of magazine articles, and 12 bazillion blog articles. He is a skeptic and fights the abuse of science, but his true love is praising the wonders of real science.

"Reading this book is like getting punched in the face by Carl Sagan. Frightening, but oddly exhilarating."
