It has a laughter track, therefore guaranteed crap. Five minutes was more than enough…

You’d think with all the technology these days that they could at least make the laughter track optional.

@22 I’ve been to a few tapings of the Big Bang Theory. It really is filmed in front of a live studio audience. Fun show, although 3 hours is a long time to sit through for 22 minutes of TV.

I would love to be able to watch the Big Bang on my iMac but it doesn’t appear to be accessible on Hulu and that’s about the only one I watch(Hey, I’m kinda retired so have to watch those pennies).

This is a not so subtle hint to the network.

    Loved the out takes though.

I enjoyed last night’s show, but I am ashamed to admit, I was just as excited about the shirt Wil was wearing as anything. I’m relatively certain this was the first time that any Penny Arcade merch was ever on TV. I’m delighted Wil has a Fruit F****cker Shirt.

He has a great bit on his blog about getting into the character of “delightfully evil Wil Wheaton” for the show.

  33. 33.   Ken B Says:

Is it a bad sign that I guessed what Sheldon said to Wil, before Wil translated it for us?

    Darren:

I saw the pilot of Big Bang Theory and thought it was unwatchable dreck.

Apparently, the show hits a little close to the mark for him? :-)

    April:

    delightfully evil Wil Wheaton

Maybe this is why someone did not like the pilot episode of TBBT – from Wikipedia:

“The show’s initial pilot, developed for the 2006–07 television season, was substantially different from its current form. Only Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki were in the cast, and their across-the-hall neighbor (now played by Kaley Cuoco) was a much meaner character. The show was not picked up, but the creators were given an opportunity to revise the show, bringing in the remaining leading cast and retooling the show to its current format.[23]”

Think of TBBT as the geek version of Will and Grace.

Makes geeks more acceptable to the general public.

I watched The Big Bang Theory or recorded it on my computer TV and rewatched it and kind of got into it, but I haven’t gotten to see it this year. Our local CBS station was running CSI: Miami instead. I don’t know if it was a really new episode or a rerun. It involved genetically engineered corn that sometimes “accidentally” made botulism toxin.

So, I was disappointed not to get to see this particular episode.

Especially since the same station is rerunning Star Trek: The Next Generation late nights after the news.

I have had a space shuttle operators manual since something like 1986-7ish… I love that books as well as a Mars Exploration book sort of like the shuttle book… very fun when you are in elementary school and very into space.
