A Chile SETI interview

seticl_logoI was interviewed by my friend, SETI- and astronomy enthusiast Lourdes Cahuich for the SETI.cl website. And, because the site is in Chile, it’s also en Español.

I talk a bit about how I got started in astronomy and outreach, why I love social networks, and why I’m so strongly anti-antivax.

Bonus: there’s an interview with an article about Frank Drake there too!

I can’t say I master the Spanish language. In fact, I only know about 10 words of Spanish. However, although not perfect, the translation function in Google Chrome presented me with quite a decent translation into English…

No, I’m not trying to plug that browser, though it does look that way, doesn’t it?…

    No Hablas espanol que?

    (Don’t speak spanish eh?)

Which I don’t.(But the BA apparently does?) Is there an English translation somewhere?

Actually, Spanish is a language that would be handy to learn and I gather would also just about enable you to speak French (or is it Italian?) too. Romance language and all that. :-)

Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy, is an astronomer, lecturer, and author. After ten years working on Hubble Space Telescope and six more working on astronomy education, he struck out on his own as a writer. He's written two books, dozens of magazine articles, and 12 bazillion blog articles. He is a skeptic and fights the abuse of science, but his true love is praising the wonders of real science.
