As someone who signed up for SETICon at the last minute, I can report it was worth every penny of the admission price.

I won’t attempt to give a rundown of the conference. But I will say that the Bad Astronomy panel, with David Morrison, Andrew Fraknoi, Seth Shostak, and some fellow named Plait, was one of the highlights.

I’ll undertake to answer for Phil. The SETI Institute is located in Mountain View, which is about 8 miles from Santa Clara. I guess Phil just linked its home city with the conference.

By the way BA, if you want to do a warm up session before SETIcon, we have RockBand and wine at the Ames Small Spacecraft Mission Design Center every Friday at 5:00, just 5 minutes from SETI. If you can get access to Ames, come by and give us a preview!
