Use the TARDIS, Luke

By Phil Plait | December 18, 2010 7:15 am

Long-time readers may remember the Doctor Who/Star Trek mashup by Rick Kelvington I posted about almost precisely two years ago. Well, he’s at it again: this time, with more Force.

Pretty funny! Make sure you watch it in 720p, and stay with the credits all the way through; there’re some solid LOL moments there.

Tip o’ the sonic saber to Blastr.

Karen Gillan could play a mean Mara Jade

  2. David

How much do you think the licenses would cost to actually make this?

  3. Vile Heresy! Heresy I say!

  4. NAW

Really amazing work there. Would have helped me if I had watched any of the new stuff. And a really awesome last shot there.

  5. sonic screwdrivers and light sabers–I thought they had something in common.

Loved all the Doctors in the last scene!

I’m a big nerd and I like Star Wars, but I’ve never got Doctor Who.

I catch the end of them when Top Gear comes on, and the acting and the effects seem really… lame. There is always some super imposed CGI smoke somewhere that looks super cheesy and it seems like everything would be better without it.

As my Irish friends say, that is magic! Thanks very much.

  8. NAW

I have to agree. The early shows have a lot of that “camp” magic to them. I am just afraid to watch the new ones and see that stuff forced (no pun intended) onto the experience.

Christ, what a waste of effort. Instead of putting that much work into pointlessly combining two existing bits of pop culture, they should create something new.

Grrr. It won’t let me comment on other blogs. Whaaa?

  11. Thomas Siefert

Yeah! Stop combining stuff, no more Rum & Coke or Gin & Tonic. :-)

Combining stuff is pop culture nowadays, I’m not even sure if there was a time when it wasn’t.
Collage Art goes way back and I don’t think it’s a stretch to imagine someone making an addition to a cave painting, only to take credit as a co-artist.

BTW the Donor’s choice BA Science-A-Thon appears to be expired and not accepting new donations.

  13. Messier Tidy Upper

    LOL. Classic. :-)

Although, Obi Wan trying to “avoid Time Lord entanglements” rather than working with the Doctor or even being a Time Lord as well? I’m not so sure of that.

Thinking of which aren’t Yoda and the Doctor both 800 years old :

    co-incidence?

    <3 Amy Pond <3 .. awesome scenes there! :-D

Thanks to Rick Kelvington & the BA.

What's next – combining all the Doctors with all the Enterprises *and* Star Wars maybe!? ;-)

  14. Messier Tidy Upper

Make that all the starship Enterprises – and Voyager and the Defiant from DS9 too. ;-)

  15. Brill! Pinching this for the Pond straightaway :)

  16. Gus Snarp

OK, I really couldn’t follow that. Maybe because I haven’t seen an episode of Doctor Who since Tom Baker was the Doctor?

I think he better look out Vader may just frezz him in carbonite after Han Solo. Is Dr Who Storng with the force? If he is the Emperor will want him to turn to the dark side or die. How about this: Stormtroopers vs Dlakes it would be like this stormtroopers: There they are blast em Dalakes :Elmanite all white armored humans. Palpaten: You are no match for the power of the dark side.Vader I am your father woops worng line.
