My Moon webcast is now online

By Phil Plait | February 13, 2011 7:00 am

Last week, I did a live video chat/webcast with Andrew Shaner of the Lunar and Planetary Institute, where I took questions from a chat room and talked about topics ranging from the Moon Hoax to global warming to tides to other planets to science fiction to Dyson spheres. More stuff than that even. It was a lot of fun answering people’s questions off-the-cuff.

The entire webcast is now online for your viewing and listening pleasure. Andrew does lots of these webcasts and other outreach projects about the Moon, so take a look at what they’re doing at LPI!

  1. SciFi Saturday Night (a web cast run by a friend of a friend) will be hosting Nick Redfern on their show… *GROAN* I directed them to some epic Bad Astronomy smackdown!

Phil, a book series suggestion for you, since you like hard science and space ships: David Webber’s “Honor Harrington” series. Speaking of Ringworld, I just started it last night and am almost finished with it. Enjoying it well enough to buy the other three Ringworld novels.

    Bravo, Thanks for sharing.

  4. Great! We love to see you talking. You are very clear, and emphatic, and funny also. We love that your answers are long!

I really enjoyed the webcast. (my opinion… it was too short)
I hope you will have more.
I miss your podcast….. Q&A. I hope you will start that back up.

Have you thought about writing a SciFi novel?
I love hard science SciFi. I think you would be a very good SciFi writer…
sometimes that is a great way of getting science ideas across.

Is it just me, or does it only work for people from the US?
Flash loads just fine, but I can’t seem to get a connection…

Ryan @2, I thought I first heard of Honor Harrington in one of Phil’s blog posts though I can’t find a search result for either “Honor Harrington” or “David Webber” using the search feature. But I could have sworn it was here. Lesson: don’t trust memory.
