I produced a half hour television program on neutron stars for my midterm project. Not sure if that would work for a podcast though.

It's here for anyone interested:

I've decided that when I die I don't want to go to heaven. I'm a model-builder and can think of a no more fun way to spend my eternal afterlife than getting my own little particle, tossing it into a bowl of "the ether" and building my own universe.

In fact, I'll settle for just a galaxy. I'm assuming there is some kind of chain of command in the hereafter so if my work is good enough I can one day get my own universe and eventually a multi-verse.

I'm also assuming they send you to some kind of "God College" to become educated on all things regarding creation.

On that note, I don't think our god - the one who built our universe - did so well in school. I mean the universe is pretty fantastic and everything but you'd think if he had been higher in his class he wouldn't have done things like create right-wingers or made animals so they had to eat each other to survive.

I do like a good steak though. Sorry cows.

Anyway, I think all that would make a good episode.

If they use it someone owes me one dollar.

I've sorta got a contribution coming up, but not a whole episode. Remember the January 14 episode where Bob Hirshon asked people to compose & send in songs about the solar system? I sent in mine, so for now, that's my contribution. I see Bob's next episode is on the 13th of this month, so maybe he'll play it then. (BAUT forum readers may remember I posted the lyrics there in the hope of getting feedback, and the song can also be found on my blog.)

Maybe later in the year I could do a podcast extrapolating on the astronomical ideas I allude to in the song. Maybe.

You know, Damian, I've thought for a while that if we put probes at the distance of Neptune's orbit, the related parsec would be very close to 100 light-years (99.91, to be exact).

I will have the incredibly huge honor to be aired on 12 May. My podcast will be about how we measure the distances to stars and galaxies, explaining very briefly the methods of parallax, Cepheid stars and Type Ia supernovae.
