I gather from what I’ve heard / read about the Fox news prominent “talking heads” like Limbaugh and Hannity that Bolt and Alan Jones would be our Aussie equivalent. Sorta maybe?

Andrew Bolt is one of Australia’s most strident & prominent Climate Contrarians – and now has his own TV show too.

What Bolt doesn’t have is any scientific qualifications in climatology or, far as I know anything else.

Yeah, I recall seeing this and wondering if the BA would blog about it. For the international audience, Andrew Bolt is an Australian opinion columnist in the employ of a Murdoch newspaper – with the typical science-ignoring opinions about Climate Change.

Alan Jones is a radio talking head, shock jock, with all that baggage. (Currently trying to hype up a ‘Convoy of No Confidence’ of truckies driving to Parliament House to protest the new Carbon Tax. Got about 300 people and 200 trucks. Bit of a fizzer, really)

Took all of a minute to look up.

I don’t see how a rap song that attempts to popularize the conflation of two different issues (whether climate change is real, and whether it is human-caused) is anything to celebrate, from a scientific viewpoint.

Precisely where did it do that?

Unless, of course, the purpose isn’t really to promote actual science in the first place.

And the people who are singing it, as best I can tell, are about as much “climate scientists” as my neighbor’s Labrador Retriever.

The problem with modeling: if the results of a model are “Inconvenient” to someone (say, a company that ) they will claim the results from that model aren’t right, and ignore the model.

That’s more a problem with reality.

Wake me when they make the progressive death metal / jazz fusion version.
