Most of us aren’t professional speakers so jump cuts save us from ourselves. It’s better than someone doing a monotone blah blah blah video. At least I think so.

I like the commenter who said “Max Headroom here makes some good points.”

I mean, yes, cuts like that can be used to smoothly transition between the best parts of various takes, but this video seems to just pile them up for the hell of it. Unless the speaker is stuttering and stumbling every 4 seconds, I don’t understand the need for it.

@#10RwFlynn: One of the rules the vlogbrothers follow is that all their regular videos must be no longer than four minutes long (in the name of saving time). Hence the jump-cuts.

Ahh. That explains a lot. Although, that video is 4 minutes and 58 seconds long…

I could only take 25 seconds of the video before I kind of wanted to smack him. I think he thinks he’s much more charming than I think he is.
