I know it was kind of cheating to bundle two questions, but thanks for touching on both 4-Vesta and LIGO (I couldn’t decide what I wanted to ask). I didn’t know we have found meteorites on Earth of similar composition to 4-Vesta. Onward to Ceres!

We went to OMSI for the first time a couple of weeks ago, on our way through Portland, and thought it was pretty much the best discovery museum ever, even better than the Exploratorium. Looks like it is only a ten minute drive from that theater. Unfortunately you are a few days early for the “Star Trek in the Park” – this summer they are doing Journey to Babel, on August weekends. And of course you have to go to Powell’s bookstore.

Next year, schedule a trip out here to coincide with the Oregon Star Party in Central Oregon. I know you have nice skies in Colorado but it’s hard to beat the OSP location for dark skies.
