KPCC interview about Curiosity

By Phil Plait | August 16, 2012 12:30 pm

Last week, I did a brief interview on KPCC radio about the landing of Curiosity on Mars, I’ve been remiss in linking to it, so here you go. Click the "Listen Now" button on the left, or you can download the MP3 and listen to it on your digital playing device thingy.

Greg Villar, systems engineer for Curiosity, was in the interview as well, and we talked Curiosity, as well as NASA, budget cuts, and what the rover will be doing on Mars. Give it a listen!

  1. Did you get to meet Mohawk Guy? Please tell me you got to meet Mohawk Guy.

  2. I think Mohawk Guy is a much better meme than the “not impressed” gymnast.

  3. For y’all that want to have some vicarious contact with the Mohawk Guy, listen to last Saturday’s “Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me”. He and a co-worker were guests on the program. He sounds like he has quite a sense of humor.
I also hope that the Curiosity phenomena stays with us, and, interest in the space program is rekindled by it. It would be a shame if this was only the “news of the moment” and is soon forgotten except by the few, remaining educated and intellectually curious people left in America.
    Pleasant dreams
