Morbo was my ex-roommate's favorite character too. If she hadn't moved out, I would've compiled all his dialogue on a tape for her.

The realistic Zoidberg looks more like the anime version from volume 6. And I agree with Phil--that real-life Homer is unbelievably creepy.

I still wish someone would make a toy of the Planet Express ship. I want it so bad.

12. Doc

I just like it because it's so danged contrarian. As far as their being monstrous, I expect that IS a bit of poetic license. On the other hand, there's no evidence they ever wore clothes, so how did they stay warm in ice age Europe? Analyses of their fossilized scat indicates they obtained about 97% of their calories from meat and they hunted giant cave bear(I've tasted regular black bear meat...it's so bad tasting, even my dog wouldn't touch it), so we know they were superb hunters. Analyses on the way their muscles connected to their bones indicated they were extremely strong, several times stronger than humans(on the other hand, I was three times stronger than most humans, when I was into power lifting, so, maybe that's not saying as much as he thought).

I still wouldn't want to piss one off...(and I wonder how we ended up with some Neanderthal DNA. I guess they weren't quite as ugly as he suggests).

Gary - it's worth noting that those "Neanderthal" images are just as fictional as the ones Phil linked to. We don't want to spread misinformation.

Here's a good debunking on some other guy's blog

For really scary images, check out

http://www.themandus.org/

All about the Neanderthal Predation Theory...the new images of Neanderthal were based on their bone and muscle structure and an understanding that they were apex predators, probably as hairy as gorillas, likely had vertical, cat like eyes and,,,well, go to the site...there's just something really unsettling about these artistic interpretations, based on this theory...

Sorry for the off-topic downer, but I thought you'd want to see this:

http://www.nrao.edu/pr/2012/portfolio/

"Associated Universities Inc. (AUI) and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) have made a preliminary examination of the report released today from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Astronomy Portfolio Review Committee (PRC). Among the recommendations of that report are that the NSF's Green Bank Telescope (GBT) and Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) be fully divested from the NSF Astronomy Division's portfolio of research facilities in the next five years, with no further funding from the Astronomy Division."
