It's the second time I see God is an Astronaut featured in a time-lapse video. Their music match these kinds of videos so well. The spider looks like an argiope bruennichi. These are wicked. They feast on grasshopers and they never leave a web lying around, and they are not at all aggressive. It's said they sting like a wasp when they bite though. They hunt during the day, rebuild their webs at night. Sometimes, they decorate their webs with stabilimenta, which are thought to reflect UV light a flower would, luring insects in. I had one close to my doorstep this summer, I used to feed it the little moths that infiltrated my apartment.

Phil said: Did you catch everything?

How about the Geostationary satellite in the top right corner at about 1:42.

A good reminder about the amazing things to see by looking up.

I remain disturbed by the number of adults who are completely thrown when they see the Moon in the sky during the day. All these years and you've never looked up?

The storm was pretty awesome, but I was disappointed that he cut the film once it hit. I wanted to see the flashes from inside it. The bit at the end where he layered stills of the storm was very cool too, but went to quick.

Yeah, orb weavers don't eat people normally, but I don't know about the ones that take up several degrees of the sky. Maybe we can train them to spin us a cable for a space elevator?

what Rohan said - the storm matched the music and I got all goosebumpy! The spider was an orb weaver and they don't eat people. I loved all the stuff going on here.
