This galaxy is somewhat similar to our own. It’s a bit smaller, 80,000 or so light years across, but like ours it’s an open spiral ..

Very minor pedantic nitpick, sorry, but isn’t our Milky Way actually a barred spiral galaxy not an open spiral one? ;-)
