I’ll be doing another live video chat starting at 15:00 Mountain Time (21:00 UT) on Sunday June 15. I’ve embedded the stream below; if you see/hear me getsiculating wildly, then we’re live. I urge you to go to the UStream page, though, so you can participate in the chat room (or find/use an IRC client you like; the server is chat1.ustream.tv and the room is #bad-astronomy). If you want to change your nickname there, type "/nick Steve Moffat" (or whatever) in the text field.
Some potential topics for the chat: Hubble servicing mission, GLAST, organic compounds in meteorites, TAM 6. A search on this blog will turn up lots of things on these and other subjects!
The Space Shuttle is due to land Saturday at 11:15 Eastern time (15:15 UT). If I can I will Twitter the landing, and discuss it live on the video chat. I’ve embedded the stream below, and I’ll try to have it up and running a half hour or so before the landing.
I’ll be doing another live video chat starting at 15:00 Mountain Time (21:00 UT) on Sunday June 8. If you look below and see me blabbing about the AAS meeting, then you’re golden. I urge you to go to the UStream page, though, so you can participate in the chat room (or find/use an IRC client you like; the server is chat1.ustream.tv and the room is #bad-astronomy). If you want to change your nickname there, type "/nick Edwin Hubble" (or whatever) in the text field.
Sorry, folks, but they put us in a room way off to one side of the convention center, and no internet connection was available.
Today is the final full day of the American Astronomical Society meeting here in St. Louis. It’s also the last discussion of the International Year of Astronomy, in which Pamela, Fraser and Nancy, Chris, and I are participating. So I’ll be sitting behind the camera live-streaming the last session on IYA 2009. Pamela will be speaking.
You know the drill. Here’s the USTream page, where you can watch and also participate in the chat room, or you can just watch the stream below.

Today’s American Astronomical Society press conference is a wee bit different: it’s about more speculative stuff. We’ll be talking to astronomers about putting telescopes on the Moon, looking for dark matter in the Sun, and upping the odds on looking for (and talking to) aliens.
It all starts at 9:30 a.m. Central time (15:30 UT). I’ve embedded the video below. If you want to participate in the chat room, go to the UStream channel. You an change your nickname (and please do!) by typing "/nick Al E. Inn".

We now join the IYA New Media Round Table discussion already in progress. We are talking about how new media can help get the word out about astronomy online. We appreciate your comments! Join the chat room and ask questions… and sorry we started in the middle.
