I can appreciate the tragedy of her situation. She denied man-made climate change quite explicitly twice. Part of her whole thing is that she’s not a duplicitous Washington type. And she’s an unconventionally-educated woman of the people. So why not stay with the ill-informed thing? But there’s only so far you can go in that direction with the moderate wing of her party, and with independents.
I feel like the Obama campaign’s fate will rest partly on whether they can knock Palin off her pedestal in the coming weeks. This should give them something to work with.

Yeah, that is exactly what is going on. Everyone is just looking to smear her so she doesn’t interfere with their plans. Too bad for Sarah. She is so smart, but no one wants to know it. Just go ahead and hope she doesn’t win, but if she does/they do, she’ll take care of you too!
All the media-bashing makes me like her more and like the pundits less (didn’t think it was possible!). The elites always claim they are the champions of women and African Americans, unless the women or African Americans commit the cardinal sin of wanting to think for themselves! The horror!

She is someone who does a very good job of presenting herself, but is ultimately in way over her head. Her lack of experience will ultimately trip her up and I’m sure that’s what the Obama/Biden campaign is waiting for…

beachbum: it’s not that she’s wanting to think for herself–i like that idea! And I don’t think the pundits are after her for that. It’s that she’s thinking for herself without actually double checking any of the facts, or that she has all of them. She tripped up even talking about things she’s talked about before, and saying she didn’t say what she said. (Apologies if it sounds like I’m talking in circles).
And scarier than that, her thinking for herself counts as thinking the same thoughts for everyone else. What scares me about her is the old saying “if mom’s cold, everone put’s on a sweater”, except this will be at a national level…I would much rather share a few of my dollars in taxes than have someone implore their personal beliefs on me!
While her stand on global warming may or may not be something she unloads on everyone, the way she reaches that and her other conclusions is frustrating enough that I can not support her.
