Annoy Bill O’Reilly!

by Sean Carroll

I’ve been a “card-carrying member” of the ACLU for years now, although I admit that I’ve not always been diligent about paying my dues. But now I have more incentive to get that check in on time: to piss off Bill O’Reilly. Radley Balko explains, via the Poor Man.

It’s easy to join.

Bill O’Reilly is the greatest journalist. He’ll keep watching out for us, to protect us from radical organizations like the ACLU. Sean, you are confused to say it politely.

If you haven’t seen O’Reilly’s appearance on Letterman, then you really should. It has it’s weak parts, but on the whole, it is one of the most beautiful moments in TV history. And, after all, Dave makes a living by making jokes, not being a Television blowhard.

    • Cosmic Variance Cosmic Variance is a group blog by people who, coincidentally or not, all happen to be physicists and astrophysicists:
      • Daniel Holz
      • JoAnne Hewett
      • John Conway
      • Julianne Dalcanton
      • Mark Trodden
      • Risa Wechsler
      • Sean Carroll
Our day (and night) jobs notwithstanding, the blog is about whatever we find interesting — science, to be sure, but also arts, politics, culture, technology, academia, and miscellaneous trivia. We have similar outlooks on many things, widely disparate opinions about others, and will do our best to keep the discourse reasonably elevated.
