Mr. Jack, your answers were quite helpful for me in a trivia game I was playing over the weekend. Many thanks.

Ahem... Jack : "invented"?, Don't you mean "Discovered"? Careful, you don't know who's reading, now.

OK, sorry. So evolution was *discovered* by the Chinese 6000 years ago and carried to Europe by Marco Polo.

"It is nice to see Joe here, but it makes me a little nervous, since the last time I met him in Asia, we spent 6 late night/early morning hours stranded at Mumbai airport. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he isn't bad luck for me - we'll see." I wonder if Joe is thinking the same thing about you?

What's their take on the evolution controversy going on over here in the U.S.?

Their take is probably that evolution was invented in China 6000 years ago and that it was stolen from them during the Opium Wars.

While the evolution is a big controversy in this country, it was no controversy at all in China, where even little kids know about Darwin\'s evolution theory and nobody question otherwise. To the Chinese they probably do not understand why Americans would be so confused on this crystal clear issue.

I know this because right now Mark is visiting the exact place where I once lived, within an uncertainty of maybe 10 meters. Very likely mark is right now walking on the very spot of the campus where I pee-d as a young boy. Hee hee hee :-)

Tell me a bit of what you see in Hangzhou, Mark, because I haven\'t revisited the place for some years.

What's their take on the evolution controversy going on over here in the U.S.? I'm thinking of Jonathan Wells's quoting the anonymous Chinese paleontologist who suposedly said, "In China we can criticize Darwin, but not the government; in America, you can criticize the government, but not Darwin."
