It was interesting to see the major influence he had on using the "Large" and "Small" together to better understand things as well as being a major mover and shaker getting things done including the Cosmology group at Fermilab etc. Unfortunately I was unable to stay for Leon Lederman's speech. We see universities are moving to courses on the internet, would such a benefit of educated hindsight not serve to direct the views of society in a responsible way? Had the issues been spelt out right from the beginning? You know I like to see the "perfect world," and if protectionism raised it's head to a universities capitalistic survival, then woud we have limited the potential to raise the standards in society?? Maybe pushng the boundary here in such flash blogging woud incite further exploits of the those who endeavor with motivations to understand reality?
