Cosmic Variations

by Mark Trodden

We have a small piece of news here at Cosmic Variance. Our friend and co-blogger Clifford Johnson is moving over to post exclusively on his terrific new blog, Asymptotia. The rest of us would like to thank Clifford for all his hard work here, and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. I’m sure we’ll be linking to some of his posts, and if you haven’t done so already, take a look at Asymptotia.

All good. Asymptita is Clifford’s idiom, and seems to be thiriving, so nothing is lost.

And this variation is a consequence of density fluctuations in the early Universe. :)

Well either that or some butterfly taking off a year ago in the Amazon rainforest?? Clifford’s efforts are greatly appreciated, and though his presence here will be missed, his voice still shine in the tubes of the internets.

Maybe it’s me but something felt lost here with Clifford moving over to his own site. I visit here and there but it is not the same. Sometimes the sum is greater than the simple total of the parts. (i.e. The Beatles)

But as that band says Life goes on….

    • Cosmic Variance Cosmic Variance is a group blog by people who, coincidentally or not, all happen to be physicists and astrophysicists:
      • Daniel Holz
      • JoAnne Hewett
      • John Conway
      • Julianne Dalcanton
      • Mark Trodden
      • Risa Wechsler
      • Sean Carroll
Our day (and night) jobs notwithstanding, the blog is about whatever we find interesting — science, to be sure, but also arts, politics, culture, technology, academia, and miscellaneous trivia. We have similar outlooks on many things, widely disparate opinions about others, and will do our best to keep the discourse reasonably elevated.
