Not flying cars. The energy equation is just too damned unhelpful, unless we get cold fusion in a jar. THEN we can have flying cars.

Honestly, I don't care what google knows about me so long as these ridiculous internet bills stop being thrown into votes. (PIPI, SOPA, CISPA).

The BMW glass cockpit is a nightmare. It is a flood of data in unrelated formats, each requiring thought to interpret and most with tiny letters and numbers. If you have a pilot plant with lots of gauges, you do NOT have your people frantically reading numbers. Boom. You rotate the dial faces so nominal operation has all pointers vertical. Digital displays have staggered sliders with aligned green zones and their pointers (nominally) therein.

Isolating people from empirical reality while they interpret clever inputs recalls the fellow who strapped himself to a palm tree in a hurricane to purge his inner demons. It matters not how many push-ups you did that morning if the wind picks up a Volvo and casts a dissenting vote.

Google glasses are about the most stupid, useless invention ever. I never understand why anyone would want to have messages, ads, video calls constantly popping up in the face?

I don't understand attitudes like Tony's. I would rather Google tailor advertisements to me based on my real-world interests than give me random flashing banners for cat food. So they then know what I like and what I prefer to buy and where I prefer to go -- it's no different than listing your Likes and Interests on social networks voluntarily. At least this way there's some purpose and reciprocation.
