It’s a kind of reefer madness that won’t get you in trouble.
Get in the spirit to celebrate World Oceans Day on June 8 with 12 hours of live underwater broadcasts from Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, going on now. Tune in to the Google+ hangout to experience the world’s largest coral reef system — and one of the planet’s seven natural wonders — from the comfort of your living room.
Marine biologist Richard Fitzpatrick and a team of divers and international researchers will take turns giving guided underwater tours and answering questions submitted via the Twitter hashtag #reeflive.
The Sea Studio went live in the U.S. at 8pm EDT today and runs until 8am tomorrow (Friday, June 7). Blame the time difference with Australia for the overnight programming slot, but this one is worth staying up past bedtime.
