I've just finished investing over $3k into a Panasonic LCD projection/Blu-Ray home theater system and hope this isn't a case of buying into Black & White television just in time for color TV to come to the market. I would surely appreciate a finalized 3D system that would make use of the present 96 and 120 Hz refresh rates, and allow now-available Blu-Ray players to play the future 3D disk media through firmware upgrades. Short of that, I have to cry Boo if manufactures expect me to go another round of Home theater equipment purchasing. Not that I'm down on 3D - there is an ever growing amount of source material these days (e.g., Beowulf, Bolt, etc.), and I would certainly like to enjoy that in my home, but not at the expense of another round of equipment investment, being what I have now was state-of-the-art last month.
