
• A 60-year old woman in Canada gave birth to twins after seeking fertility treatment in India.
• Human hair has been shown to be good fertilizer. The first organic farm in Kenya’s largest slum is instead getting their fertilizer from food scraps.
• This week was big for sewage: Oslo plans to produce methane from human waste to power 200 of the city’s public buses by September, and a study found that biogas can meet half of the country’s demand for domestic gas heating.
• In exciting news for alternative energy, researchers in Australia have developed spray-on solar panels. They will be cheaper and more efficient than traditional solar panels, and hopefully will withstand uneven application better than blotch-producing spray-on suntans.
