"Narcissists" understand that others don't view them as highly 2. That their impressions degrades over time 3. And actually describe themselves as "arrogant." So, where exactly is the psychological dysfunction that you would expect from the diagnosis? Doesn't this mean that the majority of people diagnosed do not really possess the disorder? So, let me get this straight:

1. “Narcissists” understand that others don’t view them as highly
2. That their impressions degrades over time
3. And actually describe themselves as “arrogant.”

So, where exactly is the psychological dysfunction that you would expect from the diagnosis?

Doesn’t this mean that the majority of people diagnosed do not really possess the disorder?
