I wonder if ear infections are tied to the quality of home. After all the poor will tend to live in cheaper and older homes more likely to be infected with mold and mildew. That in turn will increase allergy problems and lead to more ear infections. I say this as the parent of two children with a lot of ear infections due to mold and mildew. I don't know what we'd have done had we not been able to afford allergy treatments, tubes in the ears, and air filters.

Regarding,
"Virginia May Nab Serial Rapist Through Blood Relative DNA"

I worry about those whom believe themselves to be benevolent and seek to find others for things other than violent crimes.

Not that I think there's likely anything I can do about it.

(But it's part of the reason I've been hesitant to get a 23andMe test, despite being curious from a genetic genealogy point-of-view. Although obviously, it's not just about me. And I can't control what my relatives do. So regardless of my choices, it may be futile.)

The thing in Virginia is a perfect example of when I'm not sure what I want. The idea that the government can scan DNA profiles is a little unnerving, however this man needs to be hung up by his toenails. Ug, the UCLA member in me very seldom gets along with my inner Charles Bronson
