One more reader survey for the road….

By Razib Khan | July 19, 2011 3:18 pm

It has been brought to my attention that Discover Magazine has a reader survey as well. Here’s the first page:

All responses to this survey will remain completely confidential and will be studied and interpreted only in combination with all other responses received.

As a thank you for participating, you will have an opportunity to enter into a drawing to win one of ten $50 Amazon Gift cards.

During the survey, please answer each question and avoid hitting your Web browser’s Back button.

It took me <2 minutes to complete.

Whew. Good thing it wasn’t a Borders gift certificate…

Not that my feedback here will actually cause changes in Discover’s survey, but I found a couple of points that the survey makers may want to consider next time:

They omitted “construction/engineering” from the fields of employment. No, the construction I work in is not real estate development, anymore, and it’s not “architecture”. It’s heavy public works construction.

The job titles were skewed towards distinguishing between high-level corporate positions, and lump all technical positions in with everything else as “other”. The “administration” was pretty unclear, too.
