It would be great if reporting actually REPORTED on what this is…a blog, an aggregator, an individualized blog area, what’s the focus, who’s the audience, why I should care? It’s not like I haven’t been in the computer industry for over 35 years, it’s that reporting these days stinks.

this guy has some big ones! he has a LOT of very established competition. it’ll be interesting to see how well it does and if it’s truly different from the rest. i almost want to say that he might not realize what he’s getting in to but i can’t imagine all those fresh hires don’t know what they’re up against. the econ/business crowd is definitely good about rewarding useful info, tho…like he said if they can use it to make money then they’re “in.”

#1, this isn’t really a technology play, but a content play. to be frank i think much of it will resemble more very high quality blogging. and they haven’t gone live, that’s all. we’ll see if they miss their launch.

I have been developing scientific internet content from the early 90s. Web 2.0 soon after that and before most knew what it even could be, and large scale ($multi-million venture-funded) applications more than a decade ago.

However, I didn’t get invited to this one. I am an eternal skeptic.
