Who cares, I’m Oirish by descent and St Paddy’s day is only an excuse for morons to pretend to be Irish and get pissed out of their empty skulls. Which is not the bestest behaviour for anyone, really, but the Irish can at least hold our drink – something which doesn’t really interest all of us.

At least when we were seen as terrorists instead of bloody green leprechauns, we were feared and respected by the Brits.

be a little less disgruntled/or more productive in your comments in the future. you’ve not said enough productive on this weblog to be peevish.

Point taken, but it wasn’t a comment to a ‘real’ post. Since we obviously can’t tell one another’s tone online I’ll take yours to be friendly and not scorning.

In that case you would be making a mistake.

Though U2 is really just a rock band from Ireland, as opposed to an Irish band, I always felt there was some Irishness in their music – for example, in The Edge’s ubiquitous use of triplets in his guitar riffs, which is very prominently showcased on this number.
