‘Make a better place for you and for me’, as it says in the lyrics of this song you chose. And he did.
Michael Jackson, for all his shortcomings and his foibles, is a true musical
phenomenon which we had to good fortune to experience.
I’ve enjoyed a lot of his music over the years – and yet I don’t have a single album of his. Well, one day.
@NewEnglandBob: That’s a pretty strange opinion. It really isn’t clear whether that was hush money or “please go away and stop harassing me, this is bad for everyone” money (which is what Jackson claimed when pressed on the matter). Although the accusations may be believable, the general public may never know the truth. It’s not as if the case were the same as OJ and the missing glove and the incompetent police who tampered with the crime scene, lied about it, and made evidence inadmissible in court. I wouldn’t hang someone just because a story is believable – I want evidence (even if, as in the OJ case, dumb cops screw it up).
I wouldn’t blame everything that went wrong on the Simpson case on the cops. The incompetent prosecutors, Meathead Marsha and Dimwit Darden were at least as responsible as the cops for the outcome of that case.
As for Michael Jackson, irrespective of whether he was guilty of the sexual molestation charges, it is quite clear that he had an unhealthy interest in young boys. An interesting commentary on Mr. Jackson appeared in the Jerusalem Post this morning written by a Rabbi who, at one time, was a close associate.

Meh.
He stayed out of prison by paying $15 million hush money.
