Vote GrrlScientist!

Our friend and former Seed scibling–the very accomplished GrrlScientist–is in the running to be the official blogger on Quark Expedition’s next adventure. The winner will travel to Antarctica in February while chronicling the journey online and the public decides who’s best for the job.

We encourage everyone to go register on Quark’s site and vote for Grrl!  She’s an evolutionary biologist, ornithologist, aviculturist, birder, and science writer, and the ideal candidate given her science training, writing skills, and popular scienceblog Living the Scientific Life (Scientist, Interrupted).

You can check out her application here and votes must be in by September 30.

At first I thought this was a bizarre way to pick someone to be be a public face to an expedition, but then upon further review, I see that Quark Expeditions is just a nature travel company. Admittedly, a really cool nature travel company.

A scientist in a touristic expedition… Give me a break! What kind of scientist are you!?!?

Grrlscientist still needs votes. Don’t be fooled by the “vote for me” button – you need to register on the promotional website then log in and vote. If you’re not logged in the “vote for me” button only takes you to the registration page.
