Still represents women as sex objects which is a major problem in my mind. I am all for deconstructing notions that beauty and brains don’t go together but when reinforcing unhealthy body image a critique has to be made.

Julianne, That’s awesome! I’ve had my Honda since 2002 and if it wasn’t for all the salt from the years on New England roads rusting out the bottom, I’d expect to have it much longer.

Oh, gee, I really hope that astoundingly smug remark makes you feel even more superior to your less educated, less sophisticated, fellow citizens. But please don’t inform when you can demean — after all, you are obviously so much smarter than they are.

And keep feeding the idea of perceived superiority of the cork-sniffing crowd. Indeed, a remark like that only comfirms the ‘elistist’ charges that are made constantly.
