Now let’s talk about hope, hope we can believe in. Because the Republican war against science continues unabated, and is highly successful. The way I see it, they cannot be defeated. We have the ideas, but they have the money. The best way to win that I can think of is to engage them. Invoke that word they hold the most dear: “profit”. Tell them what money there is to be made in mining the Moon, Mercury, the asteroids. Or have them invest heavily in Space X, Virgin Galactic, Bigelow Aerospace. It would amount to the same thing.
