A Treasured Connection

Kissing to us is a treasured connection. This picture marks our engagement. If it had been daytime you would see the beautiful Pacific Ocean spreading out behind us off the coast of Burleigh, South East Queensland, Australia. However it was almost 11pm when this picture was taken. I like it though, its just us and our kiss. I find the concept very interesting. Its sounds weird but I am pretty sure my dog kisses us (feeling wise) in the same way we kiss her. Since she was a puppy we've kissed her head as a greeting, as a comforting thing, as an affection thing. And she does it back to us. Maybe that's not right, but its lovely nonetheless. Without kisses, life would be very lonely. The connection of a kiss with the people I love gives me joy and strength.Well said, indeed it does. And as for kissing-like behaviors around the animal kingdom, I explore that in Chapter 2 of The Science of Kissing--including dogs of course!
