Half a Mil

By Carl Zimmer | November 28, 2005 4:34 pm

Getting back home from a Thanksgiving journey full of turkey and queasy toddlers on airplanes, I just noticed that my visit-counter has rolled past the 500,000 mark. I never would have dreamed of such figures when I started this blog, and I just want to take a second to thank everyone who has ever clicked their way to the Loom.

Congratulations – it is a great pleasure to read about amazing stuff that has a good chance of actually being true. It seems that blogs have a real journalistic role to play other than bloviation – long and medium term following of stories and links to stories of continuing interest with specialized commentary – like your hobbit posts. Great blog.

  4. I don’t know if you have something like Awstats, or just a hitmeter. It is noteworthy that your old articles are getting read. I had a visit today brought by a trackback to my post about this article of yours, as I have about once a month since July of 2004.

  5. I love reading your blog so much I had linked it onto my own. Keep blogging!
