"...among the joyous, heartless, ever-juvenile eternities, Pip saw the multitudinous, God-omnipresent, coral insects, that out of the firmament of waters, heaved the colossal orbs. He saw God's foot upon the treadle of the loom, and spoke it; and therefore his shipmates called him mad." --Moby Dick

Language Log tried having comments (about a year ago or so), but gave up on it a week or two later. I don’t recall the reason, though I think they were annoyed by people filling the comments with not-very-relevant rants.
It is possible to communicate with the authors; in the right-hand sidebar is a section called “Links”, which has the web pages of the contributors. You can usually find their email addresses on their pages (e.g., Mark Liberman, who is the person “running” it, has his email address on his web page).

Sigh. Bloglines just got updated, with all of your recent posts repeated. In this post an ad appeared for the New York Times Home Delivery. (URL http://feeds.feedburner.com/~a/TheLoom?a=TvHBnD)
This practice will probably spread until I can’t avoid it, but for now I’m unsubscribing from your RSS feed. If it turns out to be Bloglines doing, I’ll quit them and apologize here…

Yarrow, I think it is “bloglines”, because it’s not happening here and yours is the only post that I show repeated.
