They were focusing on the description of the wasp's actions as pure evil, relating it to Shane's actions in last season's finale (killing Pilar) and his seeming numbness to the situation in this episode.

And you're going to laugh, but you might want to head to the newsstand and pick up a rather obscure magazine called "Gothic Beauty". There's a gothic gardening column this month on hunting wasps that mentions Parasite Rex, too.

I watched the episode and thought, "Huh, that seems familiar, somehow". :)

My suspicion is that they're trying to suggest an analogy between Nancy's personal relationships, and the relationship between the parasitic wasp and its hosts/prey.

Your work has crossed a new boundary! I hope they invite you to meet the cast. If they contact you for a sequel, maybe you can interest them in our amazing parasites - and parasitologists - on Appledore Island.

Hi Carl,

I've just been catching up on this series, and I'm going to guess that parasitic wasps have nothing to do with the show's plot. I haven't seen the episode yet, but my guess is that the producers used your sound byte to set an eerie tone for that scene - with words like "parasite" and "evil" being emphasized. Also, the show is coming to be known for its unusual soundtrack choices...this may be a chance for you to earn some street cred with the indie crowd!

Cheers!
