I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one these days..

What is the significance of the star-shaped patterns on the surface of the virus?

I would add one more point. Another safe alternative measure is walking! A recent study showed you are 3x less likely to contract a cold if you walk on a daily basis. How much walking? How can you fit walking into a busy life?
Read the details at <a href="http://www.trekdesk.com/Treadmill_Desk_Info/Common_Cold.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.trekdesk.com/Treadmill_Desk_Info/Common_Cold.html</a>

I enjoyed to read that post, and i have some question:
I know influenza viruses have chromosome like segmented RNA gnome that split into 8 pieces that can "mix and match" , but rhinoviruses have single strand RNA!
How this recombine?!

"Easier said than done", you seem to make a blanket statement without understanding the problems doctor encounter. First, it is very difficult to clinically differentiate viral from bacteria infections. Second, patients who take the time off from work often pay a lot of money to consult a doctor are not prepared to go home with nothing. They insist on taking antibiotics.
Some people who claim to be suffering from constant colds and sniffle probably have Rhinitis (allergy) and may be better of getting some nasal spry but they do not.
Actually, I could not find "Cold" classified as a disease and is not associated with one virus or bacteria. The word is said to be “Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease” in other words Asthma.
Therefore, I would not blame the doctors for landing themselves in this mess. This was because of legal system penalising doctors for not giving antibiotics assuming the illness was due to viral infection and rewarding the very patient who claimed compensation.
