Great post here. One thing I would really like to say is that often most professional career fields consider the Bachelor Degree like thejust like the entry level standard for an online college diploma. Even though Associate Certifications are a great way to start out, completing ones Bachelors opens many entrance doors to various employment opportunities, there are numerous online Bachelor Course Programs available by institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another concern is that many brick and mortar institutions provide Online versions of their certifications but generally for a considerably higher price than the providers that specialize in online college degree plans.

What an interesting study. There is a rush of bliss after a harrowing or painful experience. Whenever I suffer from extreme pain, the eventual release of it makes it all the more valuable and cherished.

A great example of the equivocal nature of pain is dancing in pointe (toe-) shoes. Girls queue up to get into these horribly painful contraptions, and most don't give up, even though the shoes never really become wat one might call "comfortable". Then they dance with brilliant smiles on their faces - as usual, it's the social meaning which governs the pain/pleasure effect.

Thank you for this piece. From Twitter to your blog, I picked up something that may help me to understand why pain gene pathways are enriched in genes pertinent to exercise and metabolic syndrome. A few more of the hundreds of dots can now be connected...

My immediate thought is that it is relevant to child abuse or domestic violence where threats or violence may be followed by sexual acts that would make the victim more amenable simply by it being relief from the preceding occurrences.

On a lighter note, this reminds me of an old joke about the man who wears shoes that are way too tight. When asked why, he says because it feels so good when he takes them off.
