We have two alley cats at home who are sight deficient through illness at kitten stage. One looks as if he can just about distinguish light and dark, the other appears to have lost binocular vision: sees but collides with objects all the time.  Both are capable of playing with toys and can pounce fairly accurately.

Cat&#039;s whiskers playing a role here? If so, how?

I&#039;m quite surprised that in talking about a shark&#039;s ability to sense fish that you don&#039;t mention (at least in passing) that sharks (or at least the hammerheads I saw in a documentary recently) have the ability to sense the electrical fields of fish - this to me seems way cooler than smell!</description>
