Well, I can&#039;t speak for the others but, being a South African familiar with Ostriches, I can tell you that the male is decidedly bigger and heavier than the female. Also, the female, being brown, incubates the eggs during the day, and the male, being predominately black, does so at night. The egg&#039;s shell is exceedingly thick and strong, able to take the full weight of a human.
Unsubstantiated comments like this have the unfortunate ability to cast doubt on the WHOLE article, so don&#039;t do it!</description>
