[...] Lawrence Krauss (known for his writings on physics, especially via Star Trek) said that he doesn’t label himself an atheist—because like most scientists, he doesn’t think about God enough to even talk about the issue. Krauss never sat very deeply in this chair, as if to remind the audience of his discomfort and frustration over sitting on a panel on science and religion. “I’m frustrated that there’s a panel” on the topic, Krauss said, wringing his hands at the thought that such an event “unduly elevates religion.” [...]

Iran doesn't have nukes, never mind the means to propel them. This is a myth peddled by those who have nukes and wish to use them.

We can forget about much largess for science in the next administration. The economy is in serious difficulty and will continue to worsen well into 2009. We have trillions of $$ to pay off for bailing out Wall Street. I doubt we'll see anyone sane proposing new initiatives or spending for science projects.

funny.. the proposal comes not only from me, but from those noted pacifists George P. Shultz, William J. Perry, Henry A. Kissinger and Sam Nunn, in their wall st. journal piece last year.

All sounds well and good until Krauss gets to the actual proposal: unilateral disarmament.

Really?

This has far less to do with rational thought than Christian religion according to which Jesus submitted himself without resistance to crucifiction.

Yes, Sir, God may have taken Jesus safely back into heaven but how do you expect Him to take us ALL there once we get vapourized by Iranian nukes? There is no rational thought in your rant!
