		<description>I wonder whether the reason for interjecting alien half-breeds has to do with some of our own cultural taboos regarding sexuality. Disregarding miscegenation issues, there are still lots of issues regarding non-procreative sex, whether that's birth control, abortion or homosexuality. Introducing a species barrier also brings up shades of bestiality; which is probably why inter-species couples in mainstream science fiction are always genetically compatable lumpy-headed humans.</description>
