The man had a gift for creativity, physical intuition, and inventiveness that was truly otherworldly.

Whipped Hagiography!
This man invented the use of three phasees for
AC systems, that is all.
He was a genius indeed with respect to propaganda,
especially his “showmanship” in lectures was outstanding.
“Death Ray” tales are either a total invention
by writers or fueled by the problem that Tesla
had wasted/lost all his fortune.

You’d think a fan of Tesla would know the difference between a particle beam and a laser:

They hid it in plain sight, pure genius! Just like National Treasure, or the Da Vinci Code!

And let’s be honest, if a couple of Vegas tourists disappear, that’s acceptable losses. Those are table stakes (steaks?) for a good death ray. Ah the death ray, the historical antecedent for the BFG 9000.
