The 2012 doomsday is just a weird belief. And they like to put everything to make this bullshit more convincing. The so-called scientific evidence by the doomsayers is not really evidence, but claims to make more money.
They often use NASA as a proof for their claims, but actually NASA is against those claims.

Let's debunk the claims... easily. We have 6 big claims for 2012.

- Asteroid
- Galactic Alignment
- Magnetic Pole Shift
- Nibiru
- Planetary Alignment
- Solar Flare

Well, let's eliminate some claims, that are not dangerous.
These are dangerous:

- Asteroid (there is no asteroid coming to hit Earth)
- Nibiru (Nibiru doesn't exist)

Both astronomic claims that... I think we have enough tecnology to refute these claims, honestly. At least more than every doomsayer. Just saying it, before a 2012er start claiming that talked to God and he confirmed 2012 hoax.

Unless you are a donkey, 2012 should be fake to you.

PS: why Harold Camping is right about 2011? He used fake biblical numerology (cherry-picked) to predict a random event.
Which part of the "nobody knows the day/hour, neither angels, neither the son" you don't understand? Oh, right! God changed his idea, and he told Camping first. For me, it is a donkey excuse.

I think I will leave this upto the time only. I am unaware of the predictions of the Mayans so I rahter chose not to comment anything on it. But definitely I don't want world to come to an end any time soon as we all love this planet which our home.

I agree with Rain. It's time to pahr-teh! I beleive these particuluar gnat-wits are sure the earth will actually end in October, with only the "second coming" being in May.

I love to see competing claims among baseless nonsense.

You wrote: "Sorry if that hurts book or video sales."

Apology accepted! But don't cry over spilt llama milk or overcooked Guinea pigs, the Mayan calendar extending 50 years or so will be a boon. That's 50 years more of second guessing!

If the Mayan calendar is already over, that just means the Christians and other cults can own the end of the world.

I'd prefer vengeful aliens myself. I would prefer to see really cool aliens in my final moments. Much more fun and like the movies on the subject make perfectly clear, a hero will save us. With Mayans and Bibles, your odds are not as good.

So far my book sales have been great. I have not sold any copies, still in the throws of final edits, but that's pretty good sales considering. Nearly as good as the odds of a massive solar flare or the explosive release of methane from the arctic permafrost or a cat vectored Pneumonia - I expect the media (Fox) to call it Pnurrmonia.

I hope the end of the world be interesting! Something to tell your grandkids.

Well the Mayans and everyone else spreading the world is ending in 2012 hoopla are WRONG. The world is actually ending May 21, 2011; at least according to The Christian non profit, Family Radio Worldwide, it is. They are so certain of the date that have bought 40 billboards around Nashville (and supposedly hundreds worldwide) just to give people ample warning of the impending apocalypse. Tom Evans, the spokesman for the group, said the date was carefully calculated from specific biblical dates, years and numbers referenced in the Bible. He also said May 21, 2011 will mark the end of mankind.

We all need to start panicking about the end of the world now!!! We have less than 5 months to live!!!! Let the hysteria, wailing and moaning and looting and destruction start NOW!!!! Read all about it: http://bit.ly/eiP5oc

Chuck, the Mayans are still very much around. Most of them have as little connection to their distant ancestors as Europeans do, however, and would be unlikely to be able to elucidate on this matter any further than author of this article can.

To play Devil's Advocate, the Mayans did believe in a worldwide cataclysm cleansing the earth and bringing new life to it at the end of each calendar cycle (the one that ends in 2012 is the fifth such cycle).
