Every year, an amazing array of astronomical photography comes from telescopes, satellites, cameras, and spaceprobes. And every year, I try to boil them down to the 10 most beautiful, most mind-stretching, most awesome. It's a daunting task, but one I love to undertake. Here are the best images from 2010.
Cutting my list of favorite astronomical images of 2010 was incredibly difficult. I made a long list, and cut it. Then I cut it again. Even after a third time, I was faced with over 25 pictures! I was able to pick 14, but hated cutting out the others. So I figure, why not post them anyway? You get more pretty images, and I get to show you how gorgeous and amazing the sky can be.
